About the business

The Remote Hive was founded in May 2020 during a global pandemic that resulted in millions of people working from home for the first time. Building a community to help those struggling with remote working was the initial goal.

As offices started to re-open, many are now searching to find permanent remote jobs. The pandemic has made the world realise that work and life must be treated equally. It’s time to escape the office.

Our Values

We believe that work and life should be treated equally. Everyone must have access to advice to help them find remote work and live their best life.

Remote Work Coach, Darren Cronian

Meet your Remote Work Coach

Darren Cronian has 7+ years of experience working remotely. During this time, he has secured four remote jobs with Fortune 500 and SAAS companies in Quality Assurance roles.

Aged 16, he left school with very few qualifications. After a year in college, he acquired his first office job and worked for the same organisation for 24 years. Nearly two and a half decades.

When approaching his 40th birthday, Darren’s dream was to work remotely while living in a new country every 30-90 days.

He took on freelance clients while working full-time to clear debt and save money so he could make the dream a reality.

Living the Dream

After spending years staring out of the office window, wishing he was somewhere else and counting down to Friday, he finally gathered the courage to escape the office.

At the end of 2014, aged 40, he made the difficult decision to quit my secure, well-paid job. Stepping off the plane in Bangkok, he had no idea what the future held for him.

Visiting SE Asia for the first time was intimidating: travelling to Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Over seven years later,

Darren is still living the dream. His world perspective has changed after living in cities like Tokyo, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, and Kyiv. It’s possible, and you can do this too.

Work & Life

Working 9-to-5 in an office is archaic. Remote working is here to stay. It’s time to stop counting down to Friday and create a future where work and lifestyle are treated equally. The fact is, remote working gives you more time to do the things you love in life, or spend more time with the people you love.

If living through a global pandemic has taught us anything, it should be that there is more to life than living it in an office for 40 hours a week. I want to share this message with the world and help people achieve their work and life goals.
