About the Business
The Remote Hive was founded in May 2020 during a global pandemic that resulted in millions working from home for the first time. The initial goal was to build a community to help those struggling with remote working.
As offices start to reopen, many are now searching for permanent remote jobs. It’s time to escape the office.
Our Values
We believe that work and life should be treated equally. Everyone must have access to advice to help them find remote work and live their best life.
Meet your Remote Work Coach
Darren Cronian has ten years of experience working remotely. During this time, he has secured four remote jobs in quality assurance roles with Fortune 500 and SAAS companies.
When he was 16, he left school with few qualifications. After a year in college, he acquired his first office job and worked for the same organization for 24 years—nearly two and a half decades.
When approaching his 40th birthday, Darren dreamed of working remotely while living in a new country every 30-90 days.
He took on freelance clients while working full-time to clear debt and save money so he could make the dream a reality.
Living the Dream
After spending years staring out the office window, wishing he was somewhere else, and counting down to Friday, he finally gathered the courage to escape the office.
At the end of 2014, at the age of 40, he quit my secure, well-paid job. Stepping off the plane in Bangkok, he had no idea what the future held for him.
Visiting SE Asia for the first time was intimidating: traveling to Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Over seven years later,
Darren is still living the dream. His world perspective has changed after living in cities like Tokyo, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, and Kyiv. It’s possible, and you can do this too.
Work & Life
Working 9-to-5 in an office is archaic. Remote working is here to stay. It’s time to stop counting down to Friday and create a future where work and lifestyle are treated equally. Remote working gives you more time to do the things you love or spend more time with the people you love.
If living through a global pandemic has taught us anything, it is that there should be more to life than sitting in an office for 40 hours a week. I want to share this message and help people achieve their work and life goals.
